But what goes on at Glion London? And what activities can you enjoy outside of your studies? Our latest blog tells you everything you need to know.
At the end of Arrivals Week, we invite all of our new students to get to know each other, engage with staff and immerse themselves into London life at the delightful King’s Head Pub.
St Moritz Restaurant
Fear not – you still get to sample some Swiss cuisine even when you’re not in the country! In celebration of Swiss National Day, our students got stuck into some amazing fondue at St Moritz Restaurant, located in the buzzing area of Soho.
In London, people really know how to make the most of the summer weather. Our students are no exception, watching the Oscar-winning La La Land at an outdoor cinema in picturesque Chiswick Gardens.
London Fashion Week
Our students had the chance to attend the London Fashion Week Festival, which the students described as “a one-of-a-kind experience.” The afternoon began with a catwalk show showcasing the latest trends, and the students had the chance to purchase unique accessories and clothing pieces.
With so many music venues in London, you can always find a good gig to go to. Recently, Glion London students attended the magnificent 02 Arena to watch acclaimed rapper Future, whose albums have topped the charts in a variety of countries.
Cultural days are a popular part of Glion life and are coordinated internationally, cross-campus. Our London event gave students the chance to educate and enlighten their fellow classmates about their heritage, culture and traditions. There is also a competitive element to it, with judges deciding upon the best country, with France achieving the winners’ medal for 2017.
Our students get to enjoy some culturally refined activities, including sipping afternoon tea at the Savoy, one of the world’s finest and most feted luxury hotels.
Royal Lancaster dinner
In November 2017, some of our students enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Royal Lancaster, a five-star hotel near Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.
Fuller’s Brewery visit
Organized by Glion’s Wine Club, 10 lucky people got to take a visit to Fuller’s Brewery, home of a wide range of award-winning ale, stout, lager and cider brands, including the popular tipple London’s Pride.
Vietnamese cooking class
Leo and Michel, two of our MSc students, taught 25 other Glion students how to make yummy Vietnamese food – all on campus! This is just one of the many ways Glion students educate one another on different cultures.
Christmas jumper day
It’s tradition that at some point in December the Glion London students show off their festive attire. Christmas Jumper Day saw some incredible designs while raising money for a worthy cause. Make sure you have your best jumper ready!
Wine Club tasting
Our Wine Club was privileged to welcome Laura Clay, a distinguished wine educator and writer, to our campus. 25 students heard key insight and got to sample some world-famous wines from across the globe.
End of studies celebrations
Once studies are over, we quite rightly get to celebrate with some amazing activities and fun nights out.
