Glion alumna launches personalized hotel booking app

Camille Gersdorff has enjoyed a career in both hotels and as an entrepreneur. Since graduating from Glion in 2015, Camille works for her family-owned hospitality group Maison Gersdorff, as well as co-founding new personalized hotel booking app Triptwin.

Setting up Triptwin began one lunch time when a colleague, and fellow Glion alumni, gave her a phone call. “Xavier [Rambaud] rang to discuss his idea of a personalized booking app, for people who love unique experiences but hate spending hours looking for them. The Tinder of hospitality, essentially,” Camille explained. “He then came to London the following weekend to show me his business plan, and from there we decided to become business partners.”

Triptwin launched in February 2018, and already boasts around 150 hotel partners from France and Belgium. “We aim to launch Triptwin in the UK and Italy by summer time,” Camille said. “We have already received very positive feedback, but this is just the beginning.” Triptwin uses matching algorithms to restrict you to three hotels, with each hotel selected by the team for their unique qualities. “Triptwin finds hotels that match your desires,” Camille explained. “Whether you want a hotel by the sea, in the mountains or in the city. Our goal with Triptwin is to sell experience, something many hospitality apps don’t focus on. We want to create something personal, where we find the right hotel to fit your personality and wishes.”

Camille is able to bring extensive experience of the hotel industry to her entrepreneurial efforts. Alongside Triptwin, she also works for Maison Gersdorff, her family hospitality group. “We are the owner and developer of unique hospitality experiences,” she said. “I am responsible for the group’s branding and partnerships, as well as the development of new projects in our portfolio.”

For the future, Camille has lots of goals she aims to complete. “I would love to open my hotel, but I don’t like to talk about my dreams. I just focus on making them happen,” she said. “One thing is for sure, though – I will never leave the hospitality world.”
