Aida Romeli Rosa José is my name and I was born in a small, green city called Cabinda in Angola.
I grew up with ten sisters and brothers in a rigid family environment until I was 16 years old. In 1999, I moved with two of my sisters to study in Luanda, the capital of Angola, where I live to this day.
Due to the strict character of my father, my parents were always active in my education. In 2006, I completed my degree in Enterprise Management at Lusiada University in Luanda, where I also was chosen to work as an Assistant Teacher in Capital Marketing.
In 2007, I joined Sonangol, the company who manages the Hydrocarbon resources in Angola. Until just a few weeks ago, I worked as a management technician to build the Lobito Refinery, one of the biggest projects in Angola.
On the other hand, I am also part of a worldwide organization called Global Changemakers, based at the British Council in Switzerland. In 2007, I was chosen to represent Angola in a conference in London prior to the World Economic Forum in Davos and together with 60 other participants from different countries, we chose 6 young people who became the youngest delegates ever to represent the voice of the youth in the World Economic Forum in Davos.
In 2008, I was sent once again to represent Angola and the Voice of the Youth at the Africa World Economic Forum in Cape Town, South Africa where I had the opportunity to meet leaders and influential people from around the world. Since then, I have been working with the British Council in social programs and projects.
I am a very positive and vibrant young woman, who believes in change. I am also determined and strong in my ideals. Traveling is one of my passions, together with dancing, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures and creating a lot of fun for myself and all the people around me. I believe that one of my strengths is working with people, it is something I enjoy. I’m continuing my studies with a Post Graduate Diploma in Hospitality Management to help me get closer to my dream of owning my “Petite Hotel” and I definitely see Glion as the right place to be.
